Not every stop at your mechanic's needs to be an extensive repair or part replacement. You should get a tune up on your car just like you get a physical or go to the dentist. It's important to be proactive and stick to your manufacturer's maintenance program.
Our Tune-Up checks begin with checking the battery to make sure the performance of the engine is in good overall condition. We make sure the battery voltage is proper, the engine vacuum is operational, and do a full scan of the ignition timings and for fault codes. Because a computer can communicate to the vehicle and check for initial problems, a tune up is relatively quick and efficient.
If the tune-up checks don't show any faults or issues we may still recommend some preventative maintenance items. We may suggest replacing spark plugs, rotor and distributor cap, fuel or air filters, and other parts that typically need replaced after a specific mileage or timeline. Most tune ups need done at 100,000 miles. We will be honest throughout the tune-up and give you options and professional recommendations. |
