A car timing belt is a key factor in having a healthy engine and vehicle. The timing belt does just that, it is a part of the engine that moves to open and shut the valves during the cylinders movements. Without it, there is a very high chance that you are going to have serious engine damage.
How do you know to check yours or see if something is wrong? You will usually always hear a ticking noise that I coming from your engine. The engine is trying to do its job but cannot keep up with what it needs to do. The ticking is the sound of the timing belt beginning to wear which requires a checkup on your car as soon as possible.
One sure way to tell your timing belt may be broken is if your car won't start. Without a properly functioning timing belt, the engine won't work and when you go to start your car, nothing will happen. At this point you will need a tow truck to get to us, but at least you know when you get here, that you are in good hands.
